My name is Allison Rowland. I had the opportunity to be involved with horses in various capacities for over 30 years. I started my love for horseback riding in Colorado Springs, Colorado, participating in local, county, and state 4H equine shows in various riding disciplines. These included Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Reining, Barrel Racing, English Pleasure and English Equitation. At the age of 12, I tried out and was selected to become part of the horse precision riding team, The Pikes Peak Rangerettes' with a purpose to promote horsemanship, sportsmanship, and citizenship as well as promote the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, which supports our Veterans.
In high school, I was Captain of the 4H Horse Knowledge Bowl Team and Grand Champion at the Texas State 4H Roundup in 1996. In college, I joined the Texas Tech Equestrian Team, earning a spot at the National Collegiate competition in Massachusetts and placing fifth in Horsemanship. I was also a member of the Texas Tech Horse Polo Team and Texas Tech Rodeo Team.
